Let Our Confessions Match Our Actions

romans_12_2

[Romans 12]

As I walked this morning and prayed, I heard this loud and clear, “let our confessions match our actions”. This took me back a little. I mean, I was praying for the Saints when I heard this. So, you can imagine my surprise when these words came to me. However, God, did not stop there. He let me see that the state of the world is not a surprise to Him, nor should it be to us. We, the Church, the Saints, the Christians, are not living up to what we are confessing. We are responsible for the confusion, the misguidedness, and the “accept all” attitude the world has now adopted. Continue reading

Wake Up and Agree!

awakenfbI know there is a lot of spiritual unrest. There are people who are disgruntled with the state of the world, especially the United States. Christians are angry and possessing righteous indignation. Others are afraid and fearful of what is to happen next. From the natural, things look dire and there seems to be no end to the sufferings, the deaths, or the injustice. Continue reading

Where Does Your Trust Lie? – by Paula Bibbs

Mustard-Seed-FaithMark 11:23 – 24

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

As I thought on this scripture, I realized it is not the fact that you and I can speak to the mountain that it is removed, nor is it in our own power that the mountain will be removed.  The Lord spoke to me and informed me that the reason the mountain is removed is because of my faith in the power and knowledge of who God is.  Meaning, because I believe God can do all things, because I believe that God is all-powerful (omnipotent), because I believe there is nothing too hard for God, and because I believe that God is a god of truth, when I speak to the mountain and tell it to move, God is faithful to His word, so the mountain must obey.  It’s not my word the mountain obeys, but God’s power! EDITORIAL: “Leaving the Chain Behind”

His-love-breaks-chainsLast night as I lay in bed with my husband, there was a “scene” that began to play in my mind.  This is nothing unusual because I experience this often.  This scene involved my husband causing me emotional, mental, and physical pain, and the end of the scene involved a rape.  Again, nothing unusual for me.  However, at the part where my husband was raping me, I realized this is not something I wanted to continue doing.  So, I prayed, “Lord, rewrite the script”.  Immediately upon saying those words, I heard myself praying, “Lord, remove the imprint from my brain”.  This is when I realized that my past experiences were continuing to live within my brain, my memory.  I continued to play the events of my life over and over again, nightly. Continue reading

EDITORIAL: “Everything In Time” Walk into Your Season!

TimeEcclesiastes 3 tells us that there is a time for everything. However, it seems we have been stuck in one time, “a time to die”. We have experienced death on so many levels that metaphorically speaking, when I look out, all I see is brown grass, dirt, and weeds. People are dying, dreams are dying, hopes are diminished, and futures are desolate. Much of the country is in a drought naturally, and it seems spiritually many are experiencing a drought as well. Continue reading

DEVOTIONAL: Where Will He Reside? Get Your House in Order

House-in-OrderAs I sit here in front of my computer, a thought came to me: I don’t think many of us, me included, really understand the sacrifice that Christ had to endure for our lives. I say this because if we did, we would not, could not, do some of the things we do. These questions enter my mind, “how much will you pay for your life? How badly do you want to live? What is your life worth to you?” Knowing that some people feel worthless and may not value their lives as high as Christ does, I thought about my mom, and how much would I have given to have her here with me again. Then, I thought about, if given the opportunity, would I have exchanged my life for hers. I would. Continue reading

EDITORIAL: If you seek the Lord, you will find Him – Never Too Late to Turn Back

Wrong-Way-Turn-Back-Sign-K-7427Let us be moved with compassion to turn towards the Lord of Lords realizing that His desire is not to hold our faults, mistakes, downfalls, and sins over our heads. He is the Lord who forgives all who will repent. He is the Lord that loves us unconditionally, regardless of our past, our mistakes, our hang-ups, and our mess-ups. Continue reading
